1. The Royal Flora Rajapruek

MUST SEE: Magnificent landscaped gardens and grounds featuring flowers, plants & sculptures, plus an elegant commemorative chapel.

Open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Admission:  200 baht.

2. City River Park

Chiang Mai's best kept secret. Lovely park along the river. Perfect stroll under shaded areas.

Open 6 a.m. - 5 p.m.


Admission is free.

3. Nong Buak Hard City Park

The most well known park inside the city. A small pleasant walk around a central lake, but beware, it can get crowded.

Open 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Admission is free.

4. Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens

If you are ready for the trip, you will not find a finer park in the region. The Queen Sirkit Botanic Garden is one of the most renowned gardens in Thailand. Visitors can view beautiful Thai orchids and palms while walking around the expansive grounds.

5. CMU Arboretum & Angkaew Reservoir

There are two parts to the park - an arboretum with a shaded walk, plus a lake and romantic walk inside the campus.

Open 7 a.m. - 6.p.m.

Tweechol Botanic Garden

A beautiful park with seasonal flowers but quite a trek from the city.

Open 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Admission: 86 baht

7. Rama IX Lanna Park

Largest public park in the north of the city. It has a a lake and nice shaded walking area.

Open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

8. Chiang Mai 700 Year Park

Nice little park lodged against the motorway. Good circuit for jogging and exercise. Problem with access through which is confusing.
